Tutoring Center

Need help with a tough class? Contact the Tutoring Center to schedule an appointment with a tutor today or Drop-in for tutoring at one of the times listed below! 

The Tutoring Center offers free tutoring both online and in-person. Fill out the Application for Tutoring and drop by a Tutoring Center location to pick up a referral form for your instructor to sign. Return the signed form to the Tutoring Center to get the help you need.

Apply to Be a Tutoring Center Tutor

The Tutoring Center is accepting applications for peer tutor positions at the Statesville and Mooresville locations.

Applicants for this position must meet the following qualifications:

  •      Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (all institutions attended)
  •      Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the subject(s) in which you feel qualified to be a tutor
  •      Minimum of 12 college-level credits in core academic subjects including English 111

Submitting an application does not guarantee employment. A transcript review and an interview are also part of the hiring process. Job offers are also contingent upon the College's verification of references, a background check, or other applicable reports or inquiries.

Mitchell students and graduates with an associate's degree or less receive $15.00/hour. Tutors holding a bachelor's degree or higher receive $16.00/hour.

ThinkingStorm is a free online tutoring resource. This resource can be accessed via LMS, the Tutoring Center homepage, or HERE. Use your Mitchell CC credentials to login.

ThinkingStorm provides on-demand tutoring, tutoring by appointment, and online writing help.
