Programs and Services

The Small Business Center at Mitchell Community College offers business counseling sessions and business training opportunities to aspiring and growing business owners and entrepreneurs.

Business Counseling Sessions

We provide one-on-one confidential business counseling for free to assist in your small business and startup venture. Whether you need help with business planning, development and growth, problem solving or cash flow management, the SBC will provide the assistance you need.

Business Training Opportunities

The SBC provides a variety of training including free business seminars, interactive workshops and classes. Training is available on a variety of valuable business topics, such as business startup, business planning, marketing, web design, and more.

Most workshops and seminars are free with some advanced topics available for a nominal fee.

SBC Champion Club

The SBC Champion Club is a dedicated group of individual business owners committed to promoting, supporting, and advocating for the Small Business Center (SBC). Champions play a crucial role in ensuring the SBC’s mission is recognized and valued in the community.  Their contributions help the SBC provide essential resources and support to small businesses.  In turn, SBC Champions receive promotion from the Small Business Center through SBC webpage, events, and social media outlets.

Meetings are held quarterly, dates and times vary.

SBC Innovation Exchange

The SBC Innovation Exchange is a bi-weekly gathering where solo entrepreneurs connect, share challenges, exchange feedback, and spark new ideas in a supportive community. Each session includes interactive group discussions focused on solving real business problems, offering practical advice, fresh perspectives, and collaborative brainstorming. It’s a space to find inspiration, clarity, and camaraderie with others who understand the entrepreneurial journey.

Times: 8:30 -10:00am

Dates & Locations:

  • 2nd  Tuesday - Statesville
  • 4th Wednesday - Mooresville
