This guide provides answers to frequently asked questions about the Mitchell Community College Libraries.

Textbooks & Tutoring

Does the library have textbooks to checkout?
No. The library does not have textbooks unless an instructors has put one in RESERVES. The library does have workbooks and manuals to supplement textbooks and enhance learning.

Is the campus bookstore located in the library?
No. The only bookstore location is in the Student Union on the Statesville Campus. However, books can be ordered online and sent to either campus for pick-up.

Does the library offer tutoring?

No. The library offers research help and other services.

  • The Tutoring Center offers free tutoring in most curriculum courses on both the Statesville and Mooresville campuses; in-person and virtual tutoring is available. The Tutoring Center on the Statesville campus is located on the lower level of Huskins Library.  The Mooresville Campus Tutoring Center is located in the Brawley Building, Room 093.

  • ThinkingStorm is a free online tutoring resource. This resource can be accessed via LMS, the Tutoring Center homepage, or HERE. Use your Mitchell CC credentials to login. ThinkingStorm provides on-demand tutoring, tutoring by appointment, and online writing help.
