MLA Citations

MLA (Modern Language Association) format is a widely used style for citing sources in academic writing, primarily in the humanities (literature, language, cultural studies, etc.). Review the video below to learn about the purpose and basic conventions of this citation format.

Style Guides

MLA Handbook is the only official, authorized book on MLA style. Online Writing Labs (OWLs) from other organizations and academic institutions provide guides that outline the general guidelines and provide examples for following MLA style as writing in the official handbook.
