Gaming Resources

Mitchell Community College Library has gaming computers loaded with over 40 games to play. Two (2) computers are available in the makerspace at Huskins Library and one (1) laptop is available at the Mooresville Campus Library. Reservations are required.

Virtual Reality

Oculus Quest is an all-in-one virtual reality (VR) gaming system. It utilizes an Android-based operating system to run games and software with six degrees of freedom, internal sensors, and an an array of cameras in the front of the headset.

VR headsets are available at both Mitchell Community College Library locations. Reservations are required. Visit the circulation desk to checkout a VR headset for your session.

Oculus Quest Basics Tutorial

Reservations are required to use the gaming computers and/or virtual reality headsets. Reservations are limited to one (1) hour.

To make a reservation at the Huskins Library in Statesville:

  1. Visit the Library Homepage and select Book a Room.
  2. Under the Room Reservations list, select Huskins Library's Makerspace/Oculus/VR Gaming.
  3. Select your preferred date and time from the available options.
  4. Follow the prompts to submit times.

To make a reservation at the Mooresville Campus Library:

  1. Visit the Library Homepage and select Book a Room.
  2. Under the Room Reservations list, select Mooresville Campus Library's MVL Computer Lab (#212).
  3. Select your preferred date and time from the available options.
  4. Follow the prompts to submit times.
  5. Contact the Mooresville Campus Library prior to your reservation to request gaming resources be prepared for your arrival.

Before making your way to the makerspace for your session, visit the circulation desk to checkout a VR headset.
